Welcome To Wish Monster

If you're thinking of giving me a present for my birthday (26th of February -- mark those calendars, people), Christmas, Valentine's, or any given day of the week, this would be the first (and best) place to look for suggestions. I should know, it's my wish list after all.

Don't let my good taste intimidate you. They're not all ridiculously expensive. I'm doing this for fun -- I suggest you do the same. Browse, don't browse. Buy, don't buy. Gift wrap, brown bag it. Send it via overnight priority mail, send it through snail mail. If all else fails, I'd settle for a gift certificate. It's all good, baby.

Don't think for a second I've forgotten all about you! This can be a two-way thing. On the sidebar of this page, you'll find a CBox. Drop me a line and tell me what you want for your [put event here].

So, read on, comment, leave a shout out, or whatever. Don't worry, I'll be updating this list regularly. We wouldn't want duplicate presents now, would we. Oh wait, I wouldn't mind that at all. :)

Digital Camera

WISH MONSTER UPDATE: Got a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS5K 10MP at Costco tonight (thanks, Memey!). Will try it out for 90 days; if the battery life is good and I don't encounter any problems with it, then I'm keeping it. It's cam-whoring time. ;)

Again, I have one, but it's hardly keeping up with the times, if you know what I mean. Sure, it's user-friendly. But it's as thick as a light post, it weighs a ton (relative to how much the newer ones weigh), the little trap door that holds the batteries needs scotch tape reinforcement, and it takes crappy pictures at night. I seriously think I need to put this one to rest.

I'd still like a user-friendly digicam. I know my way around tech stuff, but if I can go through a day without shedding more brain cells than I already do just to figure out how one thing works, then great. Those huge professional-looking cameras, with the over-sized flash and the super-zoom lens, are ideal. But I think a slightly more compact digicam would suit me best.

This Or Something Like It: The Canon Digital IXUS i7 Zoom is compact, stylish, and easy to use (or so I hear). It's probably as big as an iPod Nano (not as thin though, which is just pushing it, I think). I'd be more than happy to have a 7.1 megapixel and 2.4x optical zoom camera like this one. AND, it's available in sizzling pink (not just an ordinary kind of pink. The sizzling one, mind you)! I could go for something traditional though, like the steel gray. Those two colors are equally appealing to me. In case you were wondering, it's also available in denim blue (lame) and sepia (almost lame).

Wallet Damage: I don't know. Anywhere between P8,000 to P20,000. Depends on how generous you are, I guess.

Where To Buy: Viramall, Cyberzone, Quiapo (Raon, is it?), department stores, or online.
